The Pearl Perch are on the march. We headed out Saturday and started the day catching a lot of undersize fish and shifted a couple of times till we found where the larger ones were and boated some nice fish around the 3 kg mark.Jay had the Top Catch on the day with a snodger coral trout and 2 pearl perch around 21/2 kg.Sunday dawned with good conditions despite the forecast and again we worked our way through the undersize fish to land a number of good pearlies and snapper for Shannons birthday crew.Top Catch was 2 nice Maori Cod tipping the scales at 4 kg.We ran an evening trip as well and though we caught some good size Maori Cod and 2 beautiful Red Emperor they were just undersize and had to be returned.Greg scored a nice Snapper and conditions were perfect.
Wednesday 19 May
Love this Autumn weather!Friday was a 3/4 day to the Caloundra 12 mile in perfect conditions. The 2 Sue’s outfished their husbands who threatened to leave them at home next time and Pat showed her sons how its done with a nice Pearlie at 3 kg.Fishing was steady with good size Tuskies and a couple of nice Snapper.Saturday was a half day in close in perfect conditions again but it was harder to get the fish to bite.Managed to boat some nice moses and pearlies and everyone took home a fish, who could complain with conditions so good.
Have a full day to the Banks on Saturday and spots available
Monday 10th May
Good bottom fishing all week, Saturdays trip was unfortunately postponed due to bad weather but we snuck out Sunday and fished in close around Currimundi Reef with Joel and his team where we caught some good size Snapper up to the 3kg mark. A lot of juvenile Squire went back, good signs for the coming season. When the wind eased we ran out to the 9 mile reef and landed some good Tuskies and a real nice Spangled Emperor before heading home.
Took Chris and his crew out to the 9 mile reefs today where we caught plenty of fish off the bottom including some nice Pearlies, Maori Cod, Tuskfish, and the top catch of the week, an awesome 8kg Estuary Cod that smashed one of our secret baits… Weather looks good for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Spots available on all trips, give us a call.
Monday 3rd May
A week of weather contrasts this week. Thursday saw us on a full day to the banks. Conditions were perfect with a lot of bait on the surface on the way out. Ellis landed a nice 10 kg Spaniard and Mark boated a magnificent 3 kg TuskFish and a nice green jobfish around 2 kg. The fish were on the bite and wisely the boys only kept enough for a feed. Saturday we finally got Nick and his crew out after a couple of weather delays. We fished the 12 mile and were busy all day. The trophy fish was a nice Maori Cod which tipped the scales at 4 kg! Also caught an awesome Coral Trout. Sunday we did a 1/2 day trip to the 9 mile and conditions were a little rolly so tried to stay in close.Missed a couple of nice runs on the live bait rods and we suspect the Cobia may be lurking. Some nice size Pearlies and Tuskies and a good morning despite the rolly sea. Hope to get a trip together Wednesday so give us a call.
